No Heart No Art

We have a new addition to the Skywriter Gallery.....Her name is "Alejandra Velazquez" You can see her Bio and Art as we have her website linked on the left hand side of the blog.... just under Rich Cronborg. I hope you take a visit! She's very talented and we are pleased and excited to have five of her originals here at Skywriter for your viewing. Alejandra will also soon be placed on the Skywritershirts.com website as she would like to sell her art on T-Shirts for those who cannot afford an original piece!

The Tree of Souls

Leviathans and Beasts
Crystal blue jelly puffs
Floating past
Shimmering tentacles
And big blue feet
Sparkling golden leopard eyes and
Tails sprouting multiple fibrous
Optical links
Life interconnected
A tear for terror
A tear for love
A tear of the unknown
Survival depends on the
Tree of souls
The Father
The Son
And the Holy Ghost
We worship you
We devour you
God of heaven, God of light
True God of True Gods
Hear my prayer...
I am not worthy
To receive you
But only say
The word...
And I shall be healed!

I will miss you

I am shocked and saddened to learn that a very good friend of mine, Bob Vopenka, passed away yesterday morning. He was a very special man and my heart goes out to his beautiful wife Patty and all of Bob's family and friends!
It's not often you meet someone in life that you can call a true friend! Bob was always there for me...he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it! He was also one of the
most intelligent and fun loving guys to hang out with. My only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time together and also that I never expressed verbally how much I valued his friendship!

Hey Best Buddy
I'm gunna miss you
Only the good die young
Your spirit is still alive!
Although, there will be no replacing you!
I'm beginning to cry...so goodbye for now!
Your spirit is still alive!
Is that you Bob?
"Why yes it is Mike, did you think you could
Hide from me? Eat my brother eat! I know
How you love sweets! You're still alive and
Standing on two feet. Celebrate each moment!
You will never know when your life is complete!
So eat my brother eat! Have a nice raw one on
Me!"

You still got it Bob! I hope to see you again some day!

Sincerely...your buddy Mike

Love

I'd love to share a snippet from Rich Cronborg's "Chicago Stories and Other Thoughts from a Working Class Guy" the following is a word for word copy from page 69....

LOVE

We rise to love.
For all that really matters involves love.
We rise to love, if we truly live.
What else is there in life...
But to be near you.
We rise to love...
If we are faithful and true.
We two are as one.
Under God's view.
We are what is best, if...
We rise to love...
Through all adversity.
Through pain and torment...
Through rejection and illness...
Even the loss of all we own,
We rise to love.
For what has more meaning?
What has more importance?
Not fame or education.
Not wealth or beauty.
Through health, illness, and death...
Love is most important.
Being loved is the most important reward.
The greatest loss is the loss of real love.
So rise up, and love the ones who love you best.
Nurture your love.
Make your industry one of love.
Love freely and openly.
Spread the love around...
Especially to those who would have none of it.
They might rise to your love, for they need it the most.
You have nothing to lose.
You might open their empty hearts.
Some of them will rise to accept your love...
Hear the melody of your special song.
Follow your song of love.
The time to love is now...don't wait...don't be late...
Rise up to love.

we seek unsacredly

Fruit in the garden
The virtuous and the gifted
The instinct of affection
The hope of a union
In vain
With adulterate passion
In a web of aromas
Eternally austere and
Deliciously tormented
We snatch the flower
Only to see it disappear

Honeycomb

Six sided
Sex drives it
With a precise
120 degree angle
Each pattern identical
Between one hexagon
And the next
Honey is excreted
It drips and oozes
A few unlucky saps
Get stuck
And are killed
But the work goes on
There must be an active hive
For anyone to survive
A blue man group
To prevent a colony collapse
These are the worker bees
Who
Without a job
Will not be interested
In pollinating
And the crops
Will not mature
And no amount of
Genetic engineering
Will save us!
